Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Scaffold Training Courses

The Scaffolding Training course will provide an introduction to erecting, altering and dismantling scaffolding at the basic level for the purposes of licencing under the high risk work licence system.

Course Duration and Fee:

Scaffolding Basic: 4 Days

Course Fee: $790

Scaffolding Intermediate: 3 Days

Basic Scaffolding Training Course Inclusions

Scaffolding at the basic level consists of work connected with the operation or use of modular or prefabricated scaffolds, cantilevered materials hoists with a maximum working load of 500kg, ropes and gin wheels, safety nets and static lines, and bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork) for licencing purposes.

The scaffolding course includes procedures and requirements for planning the job, selecting and inspecting equipment, setting up the task, and erecting and dismantling the scaffold and scaffold equipment.

The course also includes activities allowing learners to demonstrate the required skills and knowledge determined by the unit of competency to build confidence and experience, and to prepare them for basic level scaffolding operations in the workplace.

Training Location

The Scaffold Training Course is run at our Northern Perth Training Facility in Neerabup.

Other Information

 

 

The Construction Training Fund provides funding support for training of eligible workers in the construction industry. We acknowledge the support of the Construction Training Fund in reducing the costs of training for eligible workers.

 

Eligible Companies / Individuals must be:

  • Directly employed in the building and construction industry in Western Australia construction companies undertaking projects in Western Australia
  • Self-employed and undertaking work which is directly involved in the construction process

Where eligibility of an applicant is in question the Training Fund will seek evidence of eligibility via review of a detailed, recent work history.

 

Unemployed Participants

If an individual is unemployed at the time of undertaking a short course recognised by the Training Fund, they must be able to:

  • Demonstrate that they were directly employed in the construction industry in Western Australia for a minimum of six months, within 6 months prior to the date of course commencement; or if no recent work experience is involved have written evidence of a relevant employment offer from an eligible company or contractor in the construction industry prior to making a claim.
